Interesting Recipes to Cook While Self Quarantining

Rana Ragab - Mar 2020

While countries are being locked down and people being forced to quarantine and self-isolate due to the covid-19 pandemic, you might find that cooking helps ease your boredom.  Many of us are afraid to eat outside and even though you might be missing your favourite fast food options, this is in fact a much healthier choice to cook your own dishes at home during this time in particular.

We are lucky enough that supermarkets, bakeries and butchers are still operating to provide us with essential goods. So there is no excuse not to cook some healthy and delicious food that will give you something to do in your free time, enhance your cooking skills and also boost your immunity.

Here are a few ideas that you can try:

Tomato Soup - It’s a perfect way to stay warm and get all the nutrients found in fresh tomatoes and spices that make up the soup. The garlic and onions added will also help your body fight off infections and viruses.

Beef Stir-Fry - A very healthy choice as it includes a range of steamed vegetables (carrots, broccoli, brussel sprouts and green peas). This means you’ll be getting lots of vitamins and a great taste too. In addition, meat is a rich source of iron and your stir-fry needs to include sliced pieces of steak to be complete and just right!
